Elementary Teachers

The White Mountain Waldorf School is seeking Grades Teachers for the 2019–2020 school year.

Our school will celebrate its 34th year of operation with the 2019–2020 school year. Our school has grown from one Kindergarten to our present size on our 75-acre wooded campus, which serves an average of 70 children with 20 dedicated faculty and staff members. We offer a Parent Child Program, an Early Childhood program for children 2-6 years of age, and Elementary Grades 1-8. We have a warm, supportive community of families from the surrounding towns in New Hampshire and Maine.

Our extended Waldorf community consists of an Anthroposophical study group, a bio-dynamic farm, a Community Supported Agriculture group, choral and instrumental groups, and many local opportunities for meditation, yoga, dance, painting and drawing, drama, and natural health care.

White Mountain Waldorf School uses a combined class approach in the Elementary grades, whereby two grade levels of students are in a single class with one class teacher. Subject teachers carry the combined grades as well with music, German, handwork, movement and woodworking.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, warm and energetic, eager to collaborate with teachers and parents, and will have completed a Waldorf Teacher Training program with teaching and classroom management experience. We welcome experienced teachers or teachers who are interested in Waldorf Teacher Training. We are interested in candidates who bring the skills of and enthusiasm for working in a developing member school of AWSNA and a full member of WECAN. We envision an inspiring, loving, and committed teacher with classroom experience.

Education requirements are a bachelor’s degree and preferred Waldorf teacher training or in training. We offer competitive salaries and tuition remission. White Mountain Waldorf School, located in the heart of the Mount Washington Valley of NH, is looking for qualified substitute teachers for all grades – Early Childhood through Grade 8, along with specialty areas of German, Movement/Physical Education, Handwork, and Art.

Pedagogical Administrator

The White Mountain Waldorf School, located in the stunning geography of the Mount Washington Valley in central New Hampshire, invites your interest in our Pedagogical Administrator position.

As our Pedagogical Administrator, you will have key leadership responsibility for co-leading a team committed to instilling creativity and a desire for learning, while cultivating social responsibility and personal integrity in a growing cohort of 80 students.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the job will centrally involve co-creating, evolving, leading, and managing the pedagogy of the school, leading the faculty and the academic program, overseeing the student affairs function, and administration of the School.

The right person for this job will be an experienced Waldorf teacher who has internalized the principles of Waldorf education, practiced them as a teacher, lives those principles every day, and knows how to embed them in the curriculum.

He or she will be a skillful communicator, consensus builder, administrator, and leader; will be comfortable in mentoring, supervising, developing, and managing faculty; and will have experience that manifests these skills.
